Building an app for the UAE market
The UAE has one of the most international populations in the world, so a successful app usually serves Arabic speakers, English speakers and often Hindi, Urdu or Tagalog speakers too. These are the decisions we work through with UAE clients before development starts.
Bilingual from day one
Adding Arabic to a finished English app is expensive, because every screen, icon and animation has to be mirrored. We design both directions together in Figma, use layout systems that flip automatically, and review every screen with native Arabic speakers from your team or a translation partner. For content-heavy apps we add a CMS so your team can publish in both languages without a developer.
Free zone, mainland, DIFC or ADGM?
Where your company is licensed changes which data-protection law applies. Mainland and most free-zone companies fall under the federal PDPL; companies in the DIFC and ADGM follow their own data-protection laws, which are closely modelled on GDPR — the DIFC law was amended in 2025 and now lets individuals claim compensation directly in the DIFC Courts. We confirm the regime with you and design consent, retention and breach handling to match.
Hosting and data residency
Most UAE apps can be hosted anywhere, but health data must generally stay in the country, and government and regulated clients often ask for UAE hosting anyway. AWS (me-central-1, since 2022), Microsoft Azure and Oracle all run UAE regions, so in-country hosting doesn't mean giving up modern cloud services.
E-invoicing deadlines to plan for
| Who | Appoint an accredited service provider by | Go-live |
|---|---|---|
| Revenue AED 50 million or more | 30 October 2026 | 1 January 2027 |
| Revenue below AED 50 million | 31 March 2027 | 1 July 2027 |
| Government entities | 31 March 2027 | 1 October 2027 |
B2C invoices are currently outside the mandate. If you sell to businesses, your invoicing system needs structured data that can be mapped to PINT AE and sent through your provider. We build that integration and test it end to end — our UAE e-invoicing guide for software teams explains the work involved.
Messaging and support
Customers in the UAE expect quick answers in chat. We integrate the WhatsApp Business Platform for order updates, booking reminders and support, and connect it to an AI assistant that answers routine questions in Arabic or English and passes the rest to your team.
Working with us from the UAE
Our office day in Islamabad runs from 8 AM to 5 PM in Dubai, so you get the same working hours as a local agency. We start with a free consultation, send a fixed-price proposal, sign an NDA and run weekly demos. As a rough guide, a focused MVP costs US$5,000–$15,000, a mid-sized app $15,000–$40,000 and complex platforms such as marketplaces or ERPs start from around $40,000.
